Podcast Guest Info
Thank you for agreeing to share your stories and engage in an expansively intimate conversation with me on the Expansive Intimacy podcast! I want this experience to be a blast for both of us.
Having been on a whole bunch of shows myself, I've discovered that there are some key steps for us to follow to produce an episode that feels connected, deep, engaging, fun, and insightful. I've listed out below what I expect we'll need to ensure the best episode possible. If you have other needs or ideas, please don't hesitate to share them with me.
Podcast Prep Checklist
Recording Environment &
Tech Stuff
-
Please plan to be in a setting where you are unlikely to be interrupted and that is as noise-free as possible.
-
If you have a good external microphone, let's use that. If not, wired headphones are a great alternative. Please try to avoid using a laptop microphone, as the quality of those tends to result in poor audio quality.
-
Have a glass of water ready--we're gonna be talking a lot. But please have a soft spot to place it down to avoid unnecessary background noises.
Day of Recording
-
Assuming you booked your recording slot through Calendly, you should receive a reminder an hour before we're scheduled to meet.
-
Once you join the session, we'll take some time to get reconnected and go over the outline of what we'll be discussing.
-
There will be no script, although I'll have some key questions lined up based on our previous conversation(s) and things that interest me about you.
-
Expect that our episode will be about 45 minutes, total. I'll keep an eye on this for us--no need to sweat that detail.
-
At the end of the recording, I'll ask you if you have any potential guests to refer. No worries if you don't have any in mind, but I definitely appreciate great referrals.
-
At the beginning of the episode, I will have you record a short intro clip that we'll play at the beginning of the show. It'll use this format:
“I’m ____, and this is Expansive Intimacy with Jim Young.”
Post-Recording
-
Episodes are always recorded in advance. Depending on lots of variables (overall schedule, show-to-show symmetry, etc.), your episode will take somewhere between a few weeks and a few months to be aired.
-
Once my production team has finished creating the final episode, I'll email you the launch date, along with assets that you can use to share the episode with your audience.
-
Please take a moment to rate and comment on the show in iTunes, which is the most helpful way you can support the show, besides sharing it with your network.
-
If, for any reason, you were not satisfied with the experience in any way, please let me know. I will only run your episode if it feels good for both of us. I also want to make sure I understand how to improve the show.
